As someone who has completed a lengthy training program in western-styled yoga, as we think of yoga in the mainstream, I know all too well just how much the science of yoga has been trivialized. Once I discovered Classical Hatha Yoga, I knew this is the true method. The way it is transforming my system is so multi-dimensional that it would take much longer than a short review. I continue to be mesmerized by how much my body is coming to ease: an increased range of motion, increased lung capacity, rapidly improving alignment. More than anything, I notice a mental and emotional stability that I haven’t experienced in decades, perhaps never. A space is opening up within me —not crowded by thoughts and emotions— that allows life to flow more and more. It is this buoyancy that I have been unknowingly yearning for.
We are fortunate to have Vidya in this area, where classical Hatha Yoga is especially hard to find, not mention someone who has gone through the most challenging training, namely the Hatha Yoga training offered by ISHA. She is understanding of where we are in our practice, what we need and can relate to our challenges. I found her strength and calmness especially inspiring. Her energy is so gentle and giving, just being in her presence leaves us deeply touched. We are grateful!
